Nude photos purportedly of Kim Kardashian, Vanessa Hudgens, Avril Lavigne, Hope Solo, and other stars were leaked on Web message boards Reddit and 4chan Saturday, TMZ reports. According to the site, more nude photos of an alleged Jennifer Lawrence also have surfaced.
The photos were immediately removed from the sites, but images are still popping up on social media.
A rep for Kardashian (who has been the target of hackers in the past) tells Yahoo: “There is no comment.”
It’s unknown if this latest incident is related to the massive celeb nude photo leak over Memorial Day that has prompted an FBI investigation.
Earlier this month, Kardashian weighed in on the scandal, telling E! News:
"I think it’s a wake-up call for people to make sure they have every
privacy setting. It seems like there are a lot of people that love to
spend their time hacking peoples’ information and that’s just a scary
thing."
Apple has said:
“None of the cases we have investigated has resulted from any breach in
any of Apple’s systems, including iCloud or Find my iPhone,” insisting
that the hacker or hackers used a "very targeted attack on user names,
passwords and security questions, a practice that has become all too
common on the Internet.”
Meanwhile, former American Idol singer-turned-Democratic congressional candidate Clay Aiken told the Washington Post this
week: “Whoever [stole and released the photos] should be hogtied. And
it’s unfortunate that we don’t have Internet security right now or the
laws in place to protect people from pirating that stuff.” But he said
celeb victims have no one to blame but themselves. “Anybody who takes
inappropriate pictures of themselves deserves exactly what they get,”
said Aiken.
She
coped with the nightmare using humor, releasing a pixilated "nude"
photo of herself and husband Ryan Sweeting at the beach. “I took it in
my own hands and made a joke about it because, you know, what are you
gonna do?" she told Jimmy Kimmel Thursday.
